Peter and I slept late because there wasn't anything that interested us in the 8:00 classes.  Catching an extra hour and a half of sleep can be a big deal when you haven't been going to bed until 2:00 in the morning most mornings.  We were both really interested in Laurie's class Maritime Security Training Issues: Facility Security Training.  I'm glad we got up.  Laurie was very informative.

After Laurie's class, it was time for the General Membership Meeting.  Boxed lunches were provided, and we all settled in for the meeting.

Unlike in years past, this meeting was civil and productive.  Each board member gave a brief report on the status of the organization, and no real controversy was raised.

When it came time for member input, Laurie got up and rallied the troops to avoid scheduling conferences in the month of December.  I got up and said a few unimportant things.  Peter stood up and tried to pass a motion that all classes should be open to all seminar participants, which genertated a spirited debate.  Other members had some good ideas as well.  Lynn put forth some proposals for bylaws changes which will have to go to comittee.  All in all, it was a good meeting, although it ran over and I missed John Farnam's Patrol Rifle class.

After the meeting we came across another piece of art.

Having missed John's class, we managed to make Brian's Winning Mind, Warrior Spirit, Cop Body in the 4:00 slot.  Brian put on a dynamic lecture, as usual, and we enjoyed it.

After class, Peter, Yeelin and I slipped over to Tucano's Brazillian Grill for dinner, and then ran back for the Funniest Cop Competition.
