FIRST ANNUAL MEMORIAL SHOOTING MATCH

The Memorial Shooting Match was a concerted effort between several groups and individuals.  I.A.L.E.F.I. ran the match, which was sponsored by Crimson Trace, which was put on by ASLET...

The match was very fast. Three targets were set at three different distances - 5, 10, and 15 yards.  Shooters had three runs on the targets.  The times of all three runs were be added together for a total aggregate time.  Then the total of all shooters was divided by three, giving an A Class, B Class, and C Class.

Trish, Peter, and I were assigned to the Memorial Match booth.  Peter had several innovative ideas.  Since this was the very first Memorial Match, we were mostly making it up as we went along.  We signed up quite a number of people and explained the match and the rules.

The range is way out in the middle of nowhere...

There is some interesting signage on the way...

Peter took some nice shots of Jason Duval from Crimson Trace taking his run at the targets.

That's a Glock .357.  Nice recoil.

Massad Ayoob took his turn.

Notice TWO cases in the air.  Nice.

Friends trying to stay warm.  It was somewhere in the 20s with a stiff NW wind.

Trish, trying to stay warm and shoot a .357 Glock.

Notice the ejected brass just leaving the gun.  I was really proud of Trish.  She hadn't fired a pistol in a long time, and was used to a revolver.  It didn't matter.
She stepped right up, snatched up that .357 and gave those targets hell!

Peter makes his run at the targets.

Me (Shane) on my first run.

The final scores.  76 runs.

On the ride back from the range, there is a good view of the entire city of Albuquerque.

AFTER THE MATCH, IT WAS BACK TO THE CONFERENCE SITE FOR THE INSTRUCTOR MEETING.

AFTER THAT, IT WAS TIME FOR THE RECEPTION
