KEEP MOVING FORWARD
A SIMPLE WORKBOOK FOR EMERGENCY AND DISASTER PREPAREDNESS
One of the things I was trying to avoid when writing Listening to Katrina was to present the reader with a huge list of preparations that you should make, and then set before you the daunting task of trying to assimilate that information, compile the required items, and then organize it all in one fell swoop.
Most people - which includes me, and probably you - are too damn lazy to Have Your Shit Together if it seems like too much work. Rather than hit you with a master list, I have prepared a workbook that allows you to follow along while reading Listening to Katrina and put together your preparations step by step. Hopefully this will be less confusing and less daunting than dumping a 300 page document in your lap and expecting it to be valuable to you. By using the workbook, you can work at your own pace in your own time.
Using this workbook is easy. Simply print out the pages as you come to them and assemble them in a binder or just keep them in order with a paper clip. I have provided two versions. The first version is in PDF format, which will allow anyone to print out the workbook sheets as we go along. You will need to download Adobe Reader, which is free, if you don't already have it. I have also included the Microsoft WORD versions, which will allow those who are more computer savvy to keep them as electronic documents and make changes as we go along. In the end you will want to print these out and have hard copies on hand. Feel free to make changes and additions to suit your needs.
